On October 9th, another event in the HYDROFORUM 2025 series concluded with a cruise on Lake Rożnów and a study visit to the Rożnów Hydroelectric Power Plant. The conference was attended by 127 participants, including 15 from abroad – from Austria, China, the Czech Republic, Canada, Norway, Slovenia, Ukraine, and the USA.
During the two days of the conference, 33 papers were presented and two panel debates were held, focusing on the role of hydropower – particularly pumped-storage – in regulating the power system and the challenges of maintaining hydropower infrastructure in Poland in the face of climate change and the energy transition.
HYDROFORUM 2025 was held under the patronage of the following entities: the Ministry of Infrastructure, PGW Wody Polskie, the Kraków University of Technology, and the TAURON Group, which also provided financial support and, through its subsidiaries – TAURON Ekoenergia and Ekoserwis – joined in the organizational activities conducted jointly with the Hydropower Society (TEW), the Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and the Society for the Development of Small Hydropower Plants (TRMEW).
